Barnsley extend Armstrong loan
Newcastle United striker Adam Armstrong has extended his loan spell at Barnsley until the end of the season.
Bristol City signing
Bristol City are close to another January signing, but manager Lee Johnson has refused to reveal who is coming in at Ashton Gate.
The boss said:
We’re looking to bring in three or four players in January. We’ve already got two over the line and there are another couple still to be done.
One in particular is close, but I never give names before deals are actually complete. Hopefully, if all goes to plan, there could be another one done very soon.
But this is a crazy window and you never know what might happen. Things change by the hour and you cannot be sure of anything until the deal is actually signed and the player is through the door.
This Bristol Post claim the new man is undergoing a medical today and - if all goes well - will be announced in the coming days.
Cameron Borthwick-Jackson
Manchester United will recall the defender from his loan spell at Wolves this month.
Conor Hourihane
The Barnsley captain has been linked to an array of club this month, but no offers have come in as yet.
Aston Villa, Celtic and Rangers are all reportedly keeping tabs on the 25-year-old midfielder.
After scoring the winner against Nottingham Forest on Monday, he said: “I am a Barnsley player as it is. I have got a contract until the end of the season and I will see where it takes us.
“I am concentrating on my football at the moment and will let what I do on the pitch do my talking.”
Smithies sell-on clause
With Aston Villa signing Sam Johnstone on loan today it doesn’t look likely they’ll sign Alex Smithies any more, but if another club is interested Town would receive a percentage of the fee.
No deal in place for Paurevic
