Will he stay or go?

That’s the question being asked by fans of Huddersfield Town and Millwall, with Sean Scannell still a hot topic of debate on transfer deadline day.

There have been claims at the South London end that Town last week backtracked on an agreement to sell the former Crystal Palace man, who featured in Saturday’s 4-2 Championship defeat at Watford.

But sources within PPG Canalside suggest things never got that far, with the 23-year-old, who is in the final year of his contract, insisting he is happy at the club and settled in the Holme Valley.

Scannell, signed by Simon Grayson for a reported £800,000 after Town won promotion from League I in 2012, has gone on record to praise caretaker manager Mark Lillis.

And many think he has recently hit his most consistent patch of form for the John Smith’s Stadium club.

Millwall, whose bid was said to be of more than £200,000, appear to remain keen on the Croydon-born player.

And Scannell might decide he fancies a return to the capital after all.
