WOLVERHAMTON Wanderers are rumoured to be tracking Jordan Rhodes.

Huddersfield Town hitman Rhodes scored his ninth, tenth and eleventh of the season in a blisteringly quick hat-trick against Exeter on Saturday.

According to Sunday's The People, the Premiership club are looking to come in with a bid for the frontman in January.

But Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark said he was under no pressure to sell any of the squad and would be backed by his chairman, Dean Hoyle.

After Saturday's match, the player himself said: “I’ve just bought my first house in the Holme Valley, I’m delighted to be settled and I just love going into training every day,” he said.

“With the support and the stadium, I believe I can fulfil my ambitions with Town, and my mind is set on doing the badge proud.”

According to Mirror Football , Stoke City are set to bid around £3m for Town's England 'keeping prospect Alex Smithies.

According to the site, Stoke City boss Tony Pulis sent number two Peter Reid to update his files on the teenage shot-stopper at the weekend and the Potters are poised to pounce either in the next window or in the summer.

Smithies has just signed a new deal with the Terriers, but Stoke have been on his trail for months and are now stepping up their interest as they look to improve that department.

Reid did not see much of Smithies in action as Huddersfield romped to a 4-0 win but he was in the VIP seats with his pal Tony Coton, the former keeper who is also the youngster's agent.
