Two rising stars are set to make their senior Huddersfield RU debuts in tomorrow’s National II North clash at Tynedale.

Teenagers Gypsy Black and Daniel Grainger have been named in the squad as the Lockwood Park club look to build on their 24-17 opening-day home success over South Leicester.

Black will start on the wing and Grainger is on the bench as part of a youn-looking Huddersfield line-up.

But with the duo having played vital roles in Huddersfield’s Academy County Cup-winning side from last season, head coach Gareth Lewis has complete confidence in their ability.

“These are two more very talented young players who we know won’t let the team down at all,” said Lewis, who last week handed debuts to fellow teenagers Lewis Workman and Lewis Bradley.

“It’s really exciting to be able to bring through players like these. It bodes extremely well for the future.”
