Two rounds of fixtures remain in the arrowselfdrive.com Huddersfield Central Cricket League and Premier Division leaders Heckmondwike & Carlinghow are looking well set to claim the top flight title.

They may just need a victory at Holmbridge on Saturday to secure the crown after closest rivals Mount faltered in the latest round of matches.

The table-toppers collected 15 points at Nortonthorpe where the home side were bowled out for 103 with Javed Iqbal taking seven wickets for just 12 runs, and they reached their target for the loss of just one wicket – Paul Cooper unbeaten on 65.

Mount lost ground as they gained just five points from their trip to Green Moor.

It was a low scoring contest with Green Moor closing their innings on 140-9, but Mount’s hopes were dashed as they were bowled out for 127.

On Saturday Mount are at home to third in the table Edgerton & Dalton, who are in good form after beating Denby Grange by 181 runs.

Edgerton scored 317-3, with Ismail Mayat hitting 179 and Fakir Laher 119, before bowling out Grange for 136.
