Neil Savage used ‘home’ advantage to top the rankings in the Huddersfield Falcon Greenwood Trophy Trial staged at Pashley Green Farm, Cawthorne.

A field of 50 riders faced three laps of a compact woodland course set out by Mick Rock and Paul Brooke.

The Clubmen rode modified sections with section five – ‘the waterfall’ – the biggest mark stealer.

Barnsley’s Savage (Gas Gas) edged out Dewsbury’s Andrew Jackson (Gas Gas) by two marks followed by Netherton’s Ian Blackburn (Sherco) in third place.

Best Twin Shock contender was Chris Greenwood riding his Honda TLR, followed by veteran Roy Palmer who was a on vintage two stroke Kawasaki.

On the Pre-65/Twin Shock course, both Huddersfield rivals Nick Eagleton (Majesty) and Chris Haigh (Velocette) had perfect rides, followed closely by Liversedge Beta 4T competitor Keith Normington and Anthony Cooper, from Rotherham, riding his old British Triumph Twin both, who were both one mark adrift.

The best youth was Aaron Goodlad on his 125cc Gas Gas, with Will Tolson second and Megan Savage in third place.

Twin-Shock: 1 Chris Greenwood (Honda) 18, 2 Roy Palmer (Kawasaki) 51.

Pre-65: Ben Robinson (Triumph) 31.

Youth Class B: 1 Aaron Goodlad (Gas Gas) 30, 2 William Tolson (Beta) 43.
