Drakes Huddersfield Cricket League champions Hoylandswaine signed off in style with a six wicket win as they were handed their trophy.

They produced a home comfortable victory over Slaithwaite, who had set 213-9, with SP Singh unbeaten on 112 as the Haigh Lane outfit cruised home.

Holmfirth and Meltham, promoted only last season, had already been confirmed as taking the drop into the Jedi Sports Championship and they will be replaced by Broad Oak and Moorlands.

Broad Oak collected their trophy for topping the table but were unable to celebrate with a win as they were beaten by eight wickets at Marsden where Kiwi all-rounder Graeme Tryon starred for the home side with an unbeaten 92.

Mirfield outfit Moorlands secured their top flight place by five points after a final day eight wicket success at Almondbury Wesleyans with Chris Lloyd taking eight wickets for 68 for the victors.

Hall Bower and Emley Clarence will head to the Cedar Court Conference next term and will be replaced by Kirkheaton and Cumberworth United.

While Kirkheaton were comfortable winners of the Conference the scramble for the second promotion place included five teams with Cumberworth stepping up despite ending up level on 67 points with Almondbury.

Despite only claiming a point from their match with Cartworth Moor, Cumberworth were promoted having won one more game then Almondbury – who closed their campaign with a seven wicket success over wooden-spoonists Paddock only to find it wasn’t enough.

Denby and Thurstonland were also in the race but Denby were restricted to five points and Thurstonland lost.
