Netherton Under 13s have become the first side this season to beat Elland in the RCD Junior League.

Elland took a nine-match unbeaten record into their home clash in Division I, but Netherton beat them 3-2.

And the gap at the top closed to just three points as Shelley, who have played two games fewer than Elland, scored a 9-0 win away at Penistone.

For the first time in several weeks, most matches beat the weather and a few teams took advantage to notch double figures in the goal charts.

The top scorers were Drighlington, in the Heavy Woollen FA’s Under 13 Secker Cup. They put 18 past Battyeford B, with only one goal scored in reply.

Ossett Town B were 14-2 winners against Wyke Wanderers B in the RCD Under 12 Division 4A, while in the Under 13 Division 2, Kirkburton won 14-0 at Rastrick Rangers and North Gawber defeated home side Ryburn United Reds B 12-2.

In the same division, leaders Westend Lions had to settle for a 3-3 draw at home to Northowram Juniors.

Upperthong Under 15s were 13-0 winners against Lepton and Dalton Under 13s beat Lindley Lightnihg 11-3.
