LINDLEY’S Chris Slater took the short journey to Brighouse to fish the Summer League qualifier at Riley’s Pond, and came away with the win.

Drawing peg 21 (a peg that had no previous form), he pole-fished his specially prepared flavoured meat and had three good carp and five small roach, leading to him netting 17lb 0zs.

Slater was 6lbs clear of his nearest rival to qualify for the final to be staged later in the year.

Craig Howarth feeder-fished corn for a nice net of small carp to take first place in Todmorden’s Town House tournament with 21lbs 0zs.

Paul Wilkinson went for the better carp, catching two, for second place with 12lbs 4osz and third was Rob McKendry with a net of chub and bream weighing in at 9lbs 4ozs.
