Angling: Mammoth haul for Colin Wood

COLIN WOOD pole-fished pellet at 18m to land a weight far exceeding his own expectations as 44 carp hit the net for a mammoth 268lbs 12½ozs.

M Edwards tip-fished pellet for second place, while K Wood also go in the prizes with third place.

Results: 1 C Wood 268lbs 12½ozs, 2 M Edwards 56lbs 12ozs, 3 K Wood 27lbs 6ozs.

Section winners: C Slater 24lbs 1oz, B Haigh 22lbs 6½ozs, N Blacker 20lbs 10ozs, K Griffiths 19lbs 10ozs.

Fishing pellet on peg 7 at Low Hills Pond, R Holmes caught four carp, while C Slater continued his excellent form and took two carp on paste.

Meanwhile, a 9lb carp caught right on the final whistle helped B Royal claim third spot.

Results: 1 R Holmes 26lbs 15ozs, 2 C Slater 14lbs 15ozs, 3 B Royal 11lbs 1oz.
