A FIELD of 500 is due to start the Huddersfield Road Runners annual 10k race on Sunday.

The race, over a very undulating course, starts at Lockwood Park at 11am with the first runners expected home around 30 minutes later.

The course record for men is 32-45 and was set in 1997 by Morpeth AC’s Rob Holladay.

The women’s record is the property of Scarborough AC’s Rowan Smith who set the mark at 36-07 in 2002.

There will be a £100 prize for any runner setting a new course record.

There are morning snacks available for spectators and the bar is open afterwards.
