LEWIS CRANK was the pick of Longwood Harriers’ junior runners in the Yorkshire Cross Country Championships at Thornes Park in Wakefield.

The Longwood ace finished in a creditable 18th to help his Under 13 side, comprising counters Harry Mallinson (45), Luke Penrose (57) and Nathaniel Stock (65) to ninth place overall.

The club’s Under 13 girls, led by Rebecca Morris, were also ninth, while the Under 15 girls, spearheaded by Amy Williams (28) finished seventh.

On the senior front, Donald Kennedy was the first Over 45 in the Liversedge Half Marathon (13th overall), while Linda Brewis took first place in the women’s Over 55s (126th).

Under 15 boys: 36 Sam Hever, 39 Robert Morris.
