THERE Has been a big boost for local boxer Sean Reynolds.
The former national junior champion has gained a new sponsor in Huddersfield plumber Ian Howe.
The new backing has allowed Reynolds to invest in new kit as he prepares for another big night next month.
The Rawthorpe fighter, who is approaching 50 fights and who is setting his sights on turning professional within the next 18 months, will be on the card for the ‘War of the Roses’ Show at the Galpharm Stadium on April 3.
He is also training with the Yorkshire squad which have short listed him for training with the England squad in EIS Sheffield later in season.
He has sponsored sean with funds to help him aspire to the height's as he has the potential to get to. He has been able to purchased training kit,gloves,trainers etc.... Custom Boxing Shorts,Travel expens's as with any sports person who do a an amateur sport for the love of it takes a great deal of money,so this sponsorship deal takes the burden off somewhat.
Sean is a founder member of the club and the most experienced boxer we have, having been training over ten years and had his first fight in front of Henry cooper in Keighley aged 11 years old. He has Boxed in Denmark & the Seychelles Islands, now having nearly 50 fight. Sean has had 2 years out of the sport through injury and is in full training now, he really is boxing better than ever with 3 back to back wins and stopping his last opponent and also wining a junior national champion amongst his wins.
He plans to turn professional in approximately 18 months time and is also training with the Yorkshire squad which have short listed him for training with the England squad in EIS Sheffield later in season. He Boxers in Blackpool in March and then Boxers on the Big "War of the Roses" Show at the Galpharm 3rd April at the Galpharm.
Sean work as RABC's Operations manager and works with Schools,agencies & hard to reach young people to help their Health,Fitness & personal development.
