LINTHWAITE D team completed a League and Cup double in the Huddersfield Sunday School Billiards League.

Having already wrapped up the League title by five points, they took on Linthwaite A in the final of the Singleton Cup at New North Road, and went on to win 2-0.

Matthew Peaker gave away 135 points start on handicap, but with breaks of 40 and 38 beat Jack Dyson 200-162.

David Quarmby then beat Sandy Gabanski 200-191 to seal the win.

Peaker has reached the semi-finals of the Yorkshire Billiards Championship having beaten his Huddersfield colleague and Open champion Tony Clegg in the quarters

Peaker had earlier beaten another Huddersfield player Brian Cousen helped by a 72 break.

He now meets Leeds’ Bob Patterson in May.
