BOROUGH of Kirklees swimmers Ryan Flanagan and Abby Mae Parkinson were the toast of their club after finishing the North East Region Bagcats Championships as the overall winners of their age groups for 2008.
Ryan finished the year with two gold medals, two silver and two top 10 places in the 13 years age group, while Abby Mae picked up seven golds, two silvers and one bronze to totally dominate the 10 years age group.
Other winners included Rebecca Whalley, who also set a club record in the 12 years 400m individual medley, Regen Gregg, Kieron Robinson and Jamie Brown.
First-time qualifiers for this year’s National Bagcats Championships were George Flesher, Jamie Brown, Daniel Valerio and Harmonie Waterman.
