BOROUGH of Kirklees Synchronised Swimming Club made a splash at the Yorkshire Novice competition.

In an impressive medal haul, Kitty Byrne and Scarlett Kaye both achieved double gold glory.

The pair won gold in the Group One Figure section and Solo Section, and the Group Three Figure section and Solo Section, respectively.

The gold medals did not end there, as Megan Jackson and Lauren Wyke won in the Group Three Duet section.

Tilly Budd scooped a pair of silver medals as she performed brilliantly in the Group One Solo section, and partnered Keera Warwick in the Duet.

There was also a silver medal double for Anggita Gunawan in the Group Three Figures and repeated the feat in the Duet Section with Rachel Harris.

Wyke, Jackson and Ellen Greenwood completed the solo podium finishes.

Wyke achieved silver in the Group, while Greenwood and Jackson scooped bronze in the Group Three Figures and Solo section respectively.

In the team results, again BoK took gold.

BoK were presented with trophies for the club who accumulated most points on the day, top routine score, top figure scorer in Group One (Kitty Byrne) and top figure scorer in Group Three (Scarlett Kaye).

The results are a great achievement for BoK, who have experienced a very turbulent 12 months.

This time last year the club faced an uncertain future due to withdrawal of funding and faced other challenges, but the determination of the competition committee kept the club running.

Success has been demonstrated with funding through the ASA North East region grant aid and the ASA School Club Linx project.

Partnership development through schools and Kirklees Active Leisure supported new delivery sessions which increased BoK membership, and there was a successful bid through British Gas to secure funding for a music system.

They also submitted a quality accreditation Swim 21 file to receive their quality mark.
