THERE was an amazing tie in the Division I averages for the Huddersfield & District Liberal Bowling League – for the second time!

Lindley Lib’s Robert Senior and Almondbury Lib’s Michael Martin both finished on plus eight.

Incredibly, the same two players tied at the top of the Mallinson Cup averages in 2006.

Senior’s record read played 15, won 15, for 315, against 195, average plus eight. For Martin it was P16 W14 F329 A201 Ave 8.

Senior captained Lindley Lib to the Mallinson Cup title, with Meltham Lib runners-up under skipper Frank Wrathall in a league sponsored by Milnsbridge Lib and Almondbury Lib.

Division Two winners were Keith Graham’s Kirkheaton CBC A, while Almondbury Lib B, under the captaincy of Willi Langner, were runners-up.

The Division Two average winner was Gary Siswick of Crosland Moor A with a record of P19 W17 F388 A155 Ave 12.26

Liberal Merit winner was Glenn O’Sullivan (Crosland Moor A), while the Pairs Merit went to Andrew Heaume and Michael Martin of Almondbury Lib A.

The presentation night is at Milnsbridge Lib on Friday, November 13 (8.00).
