Ashley Daykin gave a master class in how to bowl from the corners to just over the middle of the green as he won the Huddersfield Works League Bowls Association’s Individual Handicap final at Bradley and Colnebridge WMC.
No-one could live with Daykin, playing for Holme Valley Bath Design, as he produced end after end of good bowls.
In the quarter-finals there were great games between fellow Kirkheaton Con teammates Jason Shaw and Scott Tattersley, who won 21-20, and Kel Air Plastics clubmates Mick Thornton and Dave Pollard, who had a good tussle with Pollard winning 21-19.
Paul Berry, from Simon Blythes, came through with a 21-11 win against Ray Whitwam, but he could not live with Daykin in the semi-final losing 21-12.
Daykin then beat Pollard in the final 21-10.
