HUDDERSFIELD Veterans are taking part in the annual Yorkshire Inter-district Veterans One-day Competition when they defend the Hickson Trophy.
It is being played next Tuesday, July 12, on the top green at Spen Vic (10.00) when they tackle Skipton.
The venue is rotated yearly and Huddersfield will host next year.
The squad of 16 for this event has been selected from players currently representing Huddersfield in the Inter-district League.
Squad: Dave Burnand, Donald Crowther, Mick Fisher, Barry Gibson, Peter Green, Frank Greenwood, Frank Griffin, Eddie Haigh (C), John Hoyle, Mick McCluskey, Brian Morley, Barry Nicholl, Brendan O’Prey, Terry Randerson, Viv Smith, Roger Stopford. Manager: Dougie Mellor.
Yorkshire County Veterans are also taking part in the annual Veterans Inter-County Championships to be held at Centre Vale Park, Todmorden, on Thursday, July 14 (9.30).
The 12-man squad is: Richard Bentley, Roger Crowther, Frank Greenwood (C), Frank Griffin, Eddie Haigh, Paul Hillam, Brian Jenkins, Roy Nicholson, Dave Scott, Mick Smith, Allan Thompson, Ronnie Wormald. Manager: Norris Briggs.
