LONGWOOD BC survived a late assault to clinch the Bapp Industrial Supplies Colne Valley Summer League title.

Unbeaten until the last match and six points ahead, they came under threat from arch rivals Slaithwaite CBC, who have dominated the Premier Division for the last few years.

Two last-jack victories, however, gave Longwood the necessary point to take the title by just two points.

Waterloo BC, who returned to the Colne Valley League this season, dominated the Hamilton Cup by a 30-point margin, as did the club’s second string, who were unbeaten in the Hanson Cup.

Milnsbridge BC came with a late burst to secure promotion from the Hamilton back to the Premier Division.

Grange Moor, who are new members of the Bapp ranks, finished a creditable second in the Hanson Cup to move up to the Shaw Cup.

The Radley Cup was dominated by Milnsbridge BC B, who finished 18 points clear of Lowerhouses, who will join them in the Hamilton Cup next year.

The Shaw Cup was won by Lockwood Con B, who lost only one match all campaign. The runners-up place is still outstanding with Broad Oak BC B or Golcar CAC being the contenders.
