PAUL SIGSWORTH is the Griffin Bowling Club’s superb Champion of Champions.
The Yorkshire away captain beat colleague Dave Fisher 21-15 in the final tournament of the season at the Colne Valley winter club – and then tipped his opponent to become one of the county’s greats.
A quality day of bowling was crowned by an excellent final in which Fisher scored two to get back to 15-16 before Sigsworth emphasised his consistency with five to clinch the title.
Sigsworth beat Mark Bramall 21-16 in the semi-finals while Fisher defeated Ashley Daykin by the same scoreline.
Sponsor George Fellows of Slawit and Golcar Cars presented the prize money and trophy and confirmed he would continue his sponsorship next season.
Griffin president Alan Hirst thanked greenkeeper Eddie Haigh and all the committee for their hard work and presented ‘thank you’ gifts to the sponsor, catering staff Sarah and Robbie and Gary and his staff at the Junction Inn, which Griffin bowlers use as their base.

MILNSBRIDGE BC stage the final qualifying round of their Spring Classic on Friday. The draw will be done before starting at 6.30.
Two qualifiers will go through to Saturday’s final (5.00), when the winner receives £800 from a prize fund of £3,000.
