THE snow could not stop the Griffin’s latest ‘Sixteen’ from going ahead or Duncan Reeves coming out on top.
In spite of the weather, the green was cleared with the start of bowling delayed by just five minutes.
However, the players had to adjust to varying conditions as the green changed during the contest.
In the final Reeves met Michael Higgins, who got off to a flier leading 11-5 at the 11th end.
Reeves got back into the contest closing the gap at the 19th end trailing 13-10 to Higgins, who then played his worst two bowls of the game letting Reeves back in.
Reeves then took full advantage and ran out with an 11 break, and with the win Reeves becomes the 12th player to claim a place in the end of season Champion of Champions competition.
