HUDDERSFIELD indoor bowling team took on a strong Featherstone side in their second match of the season in Yorkshire Division One.

They knew that they would be hard pressed to get anything out of the fixture and so it proved with Featherstone taking all 18 points on offer.

At home the rinks led by Terry Machen and Nigel Williams were always in with a chance and both led for the majority of their matches.

However, over the last five ends both rinks were overhauled and Featherstone ran out comfortable winners.

Away the rinks led by Jack Dyson and Damien Talbot fared no better.

Although both were competitive for the first half of the game the Featherstone rinks came through strongly in the second half to again run out easy winners.

If the Huddersfield lads were on a high after they defeated Thornaby this match brought them back to earth.

The month of January provides fixtures against Scarborough and York – neither of these will be easy.
