MARJORIE HAIGH, of Marsh United, is in the form of her life.
Fresh from her Hyman Morris win last month when she beat Karen Gant (Meltham) in the final, Marjorie clinched a second big win when lifting the Joyce Winterbottom Memorial Trophy.
She beat Anne Hinchliffe (Lockwood Con) 21-18 to lift the silverware at Meltham.
Windy conditions made bowling very tricky, however there was some superb bowling throughout the day.
In the final, played on the big green, Majorie held a commanding lead but Anne fought back well and had two bowls on to go 20-19 up.
But lady luck helped Majorie to glide off Anne’s bowl and count the end. A good lead at the next sealed victory for Majorie in the fifth year of the competition.
Joyce’s son Richard, of Talkative, presented the trophy to the winner and prizes to the last eight.
