MARK ATKINSON is bidding to retain his title when the Liberal Merit final is played at sponsors Milnsbridge Liberal Club on Sunday.
Atkinson faces Almondbury Lib’s Andrew Heaume in his first game in a strong field.
Two other former winners are in the line-up (it’s 2pm start, 2.15 scratching) – Glenn O’Sullivan who won in 2009 and Ashley Tattersley, who took the title in 2006 and the following year.
It is the 59th Liberal Merit final and the winner takes home £120 from a £400 prize fund.
