Milnsbridge BC won the Bistro Shield beating Clayton West 93-77 at Elland BC.

The margin of victory perhaps flattered Milnsbridge as after the first three games Clayton West were leading 57-51.

And Clayton West still had their noses in front half way through the last two games before everything changed.

Clayton West players suddenly began knocking their own woods out and knocking opponents woods in, and bowling short with plenty of room to score.

As a result, Clayton West let Milnsbridge off the hook and they didn’t score many more points as Milnsbridge won by 16.

Alan Stephenson, president of the Association, thanked everyone involved on the day and congratulated the winning team and commiserated with the losers.

He introduced Barry Nicholl, the sponsor of this competition, who presented the prizes.

Trevor Barker, the winning captain, responded on behalf of both teams and congratulated the Elland club’s greenkeepers for the excellent condition of the green.
