ROBERT MUDD qualified for the Griffin Bowling Club's champion of champions season finale after narrowly beating Ronnie Wormald 21-20 in the latest sixteen.
It was Mudd's first success of the season at the private winter club and fought back from 16-11 down to win on a well-running green made tricky as it dried out in various places.
This weekend features two days of qualifying for the Bernard Sigsworth Memorial Handicap, sponsored by the Sigsworth family.
Bowlers should note the earlier start time on Sunday.
