Four pairs go through from each green to the final on August 15 at Paddock.

The semi-finals of the Veterans Julie Fuller Six-man Team Knockout are on Friday, July 29, with the winners through to the final at Almondbury Lib on August 12.

Wayne Ditchfield (Preston) won the Complete Packaging Services Hill Crest Classic with a 31-29 victory over Richard Helliwell (Mytholmroyd WMC) in one of the best finals seen in the competition’s 36 years.

Ditchfield picked up £1,200 and Hilliwell £600. Both finalists shared the £50 highest break prize sponsored by Grosvenors Butchers.

Entries are now being taken for the Milnsbridge Bowling Club John Senior Adult and Junior Pairs.

Eight pairs bowl down to two on each night (two pairs from the same club will be put in separate halves of the draw) and the junior had to be under 16 on January 1 this year.

Entry is £7 per pair and prize money is £100 for the winners, £50 runners-up and £25 for the losing semi-finalists.

It will be played on Sundays August 7, 14, 21 and 28, with the final on September 4 (Start 6pm, practice from 5.40).
