JACK DYSON staged a stirring fightback to pick up the man of the match award and help Yorkshire to a stunning victory against North Lancs & Fylde.
Featuring a strong Huddersfield contingent, Yorkshire had only two losers as they posted a 61-point victory at Newsome WMC – but the most dramatic win was Dyson’s.
The Netherton Con star was 9-0 down against Wayne Ditchfield before clawing his way back into the contest and eventually winning 21-16.
Both players played some extremely close woods, with Dyson gaining a lot of success in the corners.
Excellent home wins were also scored by Dave Fisher, Dave Cooper, Dave Fox and Ashley Daykin and, with the away team losing by just nine points – Yorkshie Merit winner James Davison (who bowls for Thongsbridge) recording their best success 21-8 – it meant an overall 446-394 win and a 52-point margin for the White Rose.
Lower Hopton’s James Hanson and Ian Booth were both winners for the away team, while Nicky White (Thongsbridge) and Chris Mordue (BrighouseSports) were among those beaten.
