BROCKHOLES duo Jack Dyson and Adam Beaumont begin the defence of their Huddersfield Bowling League Ben Shaws-sponsored Meltham Cup on Sunday, July 13 (start 2.00, scratching 2.15).

They take on Meltham pairing Craig Gant and Michael Pogson at Marsh United.

Since graduating from the junior ranks Beaumont and Dyson have made their presence felt on the senior stage with Dyson qualifying for both the Yorkshire Merit and Huddersfield Merit final days (he was runner-up to Ashley Daykin last year) and Beaumont won the Jack Burgin Trophy (Mugs Handicap) in 2007 and added the Spring Handicap title in May.

One pair from each of the following eight venues will contest the final – which was formerly a six-man team knockout format – at Huddersfield RUFC BC on Saturday, July 26.
