Terry Brook and Frank Greenwood upset the odds to win the Griffin Pairs title and a £200 first prize.
In the event sponsored by Duncan Reeves, with total prize money of £560, they defeated favourites Steven Hirst and Mark Wood 21-14 in the showpiece.
At the fourth end, Hirst and Wood were leading 6-1, while by the ninth end it was Greenwood and Brook were leading 10-6.
The match remained in the balance and, by the 14th end, it was 11 across and, again at the 19th end, it was level with both pairs on 14.
The next three ends settled the match, with Brook leading for his team they scored a three and two pairs to take it.
Before the presentation, club president Alan Hirst expressed his appreciation to those who stayed.
Hirst thanked Leslie Wood for providing refreshments all day, Mark Richardson and Peter Kain for all their work on the green and had special praise for sponsor Duncan Reeves, who made the awards.
Brook endorsed all Hirst had said but also emphasised the part sponsors play in keeping the club’s competitions so well attended.
