BROTHERS PEARSE bounced back from a heavy defeat by JFK’s to beat St Benedict’s in their latest Yorkshire League Gaelic football match.

The All Saints-based side won by 2-10 to 2-4 in Beeston, providing a big boost ahead of their trip to Ireland.

A 50-strong party set off this morning with the destination County Mayo, in Western Ireland, where they will play a game against Louisburgh.

The four-day trip has been organised by long-serving player Noel Kitterick, whose has family links in the area.

Against Leeds side JFK’s, Brothers Pearse were drubbed 2-10 to only two points.

It was their only defeat in five Yorkshire League games so far this season.

The win over St Benedict’s followed other victories against Hugh O’Neill’s and St Anthony’s.
