LINTHWAITE Tennis Club are appealing to vandals to keep away from their Stoney Lane base ahead of the new season.

The club, which will field two mens and one ladies team in the Slazenger Huddersfield Tennis League, have been blighted by vandals who have repeatedly damaged the tennis pavilion.

Subscription secretary Hilary Baxter said: “All the damage is costing us extra at a time when we want to re-direct our already limited funds to converting the old bowling green into a third tennis court on the site.

“The juniors also had wonderful plans for decorating the pavilion which have had to be put aside for the time being while the damage is repaired.”
