ANDY MARSHALL (VS Cycles) was the fastest local rider at the Circuit of the Dales 50-mile time trial.

The race was won by Mark Holton (www.drag2zero.com) in one hour 56 minutes 52 seconds, while Marshall recorded 2.15.46 over some very hilly terrain to finish in 14th place and take fourth in the Veteran Over 40 section.

Tom Broadbent (Huddersfield Star Wheelers) was 24th with a time of 2.20.15 and Huddersfield RC riders Mark Saxton and Paul Brierley stopped the clock in 2.23.10 and 2.29.15, respectively.

The Bridlington CC Spring Road Race proved popular with 120 riders entered in two separate races for second, third and fourth category riders.

Gareth Owen (VS Cycles) was in the points in the first race in 14th place.

The race was won by Daniel Smith (Velo29 Cycling Team), while Ivan Boyes (Huddersfield Star Wheelers) finished in the main group.

In the second race, Richard Binks (Holme Valley Wheelers) was the pick of the local riders in seventh place. The race was won by James Sharp (York Cycleworks) – Mark Buckingham (Star Wheelers) and Ben Page (VS Cycles) finished in the bunch.
