THE Jonathon Noble Memorial Cyclo Cross was held in treacherously wet conditions, with Graham Piccavey (Huddersfield Star Wheelers) avoiding a crash on the first lap in the Veterans to finish 21st (writes Ivan Boyes).
Tim Beachill (Huddersfield RC) was 23rd and the race was won by in-form Matt Denby (Zepnat.com).
Holme Valley Wheelers were out in force in the Under 16 races.
Leon Gledhill was ninth in the Youth race won by Joseph Moses (Bronte Wheelers). Amira Mellor and Alex France were 18th and 24th.
Mason Hollyman (Sowerby Bros) won the Under 10 race with Jack Ford (Holme Valley Wheelers) in second.
Clubmate Tiras Waterman was fourth. Soljai Waterman and Elphina Waterman were 29th and 36th.
The Manchester Regional Track League continues this Friday. Ben Kellett and Jacob Scott (HV Wheelers) are riding in Group 4 and Ivan Boyes (Star Wheelers) hopes to join them for the following week by picking up some good results riding in Group 3.
