HUDDERSFIELD Pro rider Tom Murray (Sigma Sport Specialized) was on the podium in the final round of the British Cycling Elite Circuit Race Series.

Murray, along with Ian Wikinson (Endura Racing), James McCallum (Rapha Condor Sharp) and Simon Yates (100% ME) broke clear of the peloton early in the race.

With three of the major British teams represented it always looked likely that the break would stay away for the race duration.

Wilkinson came out on top in the sprint for victory with McCallum second and Murray third.

Dean Downing (Rapha Condor Sharp) took the overall series win with Murray in third.

In the supporting Youth races, former Holme Valley Wheeler Gabriel Cullaigh (Aire Valley RT) was eighth in the Under 16 Boys despite a crash on the last lap, the race was won by Luc Hall (Kuota).

Harmonie Waterman (Kirklees Cycling Academy) finished 16th and sixth Girl in the Under 14s race, one place ahead of brother Seth in 17th.

Ben Kellett had another great result in the RVO Evening Road Race for 2nd and 3rd Cat riders on the Barlow triangle course near Chesterfield.

The 30-strong bunch split early in the 15-lap 37-mile race with 11 riders getting away.

Four riders, including Kellett, broke clear in the latter stages of the race, Rutland CC rider Danny Lowthorpe kicking hard out of the last corner and taking the win, followed home by Kellett in second place.

John Doherty (VS Cycles) and Ivan Boyes (Huddersfield Star Wheelers) finished in the second group.

Star Wheeler Mark Thaxter rode the Tumbys Memorial RR for 2nd and 3rd Cat riders on the Harworth course near Doncaster.

Mark Buckingham was on the attack on several occasions but the course was too flat for him to get any gap on the bunch.

After 100km of racing it was Richard Meadows (Velo 29) who crossed the line first. John Doherty (VS Cycles) was 10th and Buckingham rolled home in the bunch.
