Thaxter shines

CYCLING: Mark Thaxter (Huddersfield Star Wheelers) rode his first 50 mile time trial of the season and took second place in the Yorkshire Cycling Federation event at Thirsk. Joel Wainman (Team Swift) won in one hour 48 minutes 5 seconds, with Thaxter next home in 1.51.48sec, a personal best. Holme Valley Wheelers Steve Rimmer, Chris Harris and Rachael Mellor stopped the clock in 2.07.14, 2.09.56 and 2.10.09, while Paul Brierley (Huddersfield RC) finished in 2.10.15.
