The final of the 2016 BDO Men's World Championships is on Sunday, January 10 at the Lakeside Country Club at Frimley Green.

Last year Scott Mitchell claimed his first world title, edging out former champion Martin 'Wolfie' Adams 7-6.

The competition first began in 1978 and is organised by the British Darts Organisation.

The final has been held at the Lakeside since 1986, with a women's World Championship beginning at the same venue since 2001.

In 2014, Stephen Bunting, who now plays on the rival PDC circuit, beat Alan Norris 7-4.

Huddersfield's Scott Waites won the title in 2013, beating Stockport's Tony 'Silverback' O'Shea 7-1 to claim his first world title.
