HUDDERSFIELD Giants Netball Club Under 16s are competing at the National Championships in Norwich this weekend.
And they have had some motivational encouragement from Robbie Hunter-Paul, the Giants Business Development Manager and former star player.
Two teams from Yorkshire are invited to take part in the tournament after success in the West Yorkshire and Yorkshire Regional Leagues, and they will compete against club teams in a tournament which brings together the best in the country.
It’s a third consecutive year at the Nationals for this Huddersfield squad and their coach, Lynda Fluskey.
The team are representing Yorkshire along with their nemesis, Leeds Carnegie.
Junior team manager Alison Morby said: “The Giants Under 16s are really enthusiastic and always manage to impress.
“We are expecting them to play really well following a programme of hard training and hope they achieve success.”
Due to their ongoing success, Ramsdens Solicitors showed an interest in the team and supplied a new kit which they are playing in the for the first time.
Huddersfield have a squad of 12 girls with two coaches, a professional scorer and a qualifier first-aider supporting with families on the sidelines.
Matches in Norwich are today and tomorrow.
