CAROLINE HIRST won the Outlane Lady Captain’s Day prize.

Hirst scored a 74 in the first round, but saved her best for the Sunday when her 71 edged out runner-up Beth Bates, who had also shot 74 on the first day – in third place was Christine Lamont.

Prizes were also awarded for best first round and best second round for those who did not finish in the top three, as well as an over 60s prize and best par threes and a most improved score after the first round.

A junior prize went to Lily Hirst and Joanna Bradley, who were playing in their first competition at the club.

The presentation dinner included guests from the club and the Lady Captain Lynn Bradley’s parents, who travelled up from Devon for the two days of golf.
