GOLF Halifax, Huddersfield Golf Alliance secretary Roger Heap has died following a lengthy illness.A former president and captain at his home club Ryburn, Mr Heap took over running the winter Alliance competitions along with the late Ronnie Parkinson.Bradley Park’s Barry Isles, who was assistant to Mr Heap, has now taken over the main role, with Ryburn’s James Washington as assistant secretary.Mr Heap’s funeral is on Friday, at Parkwood Crematorium, Elland (9.30am).
