CHRIS HANSON capped a magnificent year with yet another top 10 finish on the Europro Golf Tour and then promptly pledged to remain faithful to John Letters by re-signing to the brand for a fourth successive season.

Having already booked his place on next season’s Challenge Tour going into the final Europro event of the season at the International Mar Menor Golf Resort, in Murcia, Spain, Hanson finished in a five-way tie for 10th, having put together rounds of 70, 67 and 66 for a 10-under tally of 203.

And although that was only good enough to put another £830 onto his season’s prize money tally, he still finished top of the PGA Europro Tour Order of Merit, topping runner up James Busby (who scooped £15k for his win in Murcia) by more than £8,500.

The Woodsome Hall golfer’s consistency has been remarkable this season, for not only has he won three of the Europro Tour events at Bovey Castle, Galgorm Castle and Mottram Hall, but he has also recorded nine other top 10 finishes, making him the most successful and consistent player on the tour.

“I changed to the John Letters Master Model irons last Christmas, which has resulted in my most successful season to date,” admitted Hanson.

“My level of consistency has to be put down to the outstanding distance control I’ve been getting with the new irons, and that has certainly helped me towards my nine top 10 finishes on the Tour and a total of 10 wins throughout the UK this season.”

With his Challenge Tour card now safely in the bag, Hanson is already looking forward and aiming to improve his category, and will be attempting to get full European Tour playing privileges at the qualifying school in December.

“The decision to resign with John Letters for the 2012 season was very easy. The technical support and the personal service you receive as a John Letters staff player is first class and I’ve been looked after like a European Tour star,” said Hanson.

Hanson plays with John Letters T9+ Fairway Woods, T9+ Hybrids, Master Model Irons, 52, 56 and 60 degree Tour Black Wedges and Golden Goose GG3 Putter.

His association with John Letters came through the backing of company managing director John Andrew, himself a PGA professional, who is based in Huddersfield and is a huge supporter of local professionals. And with the John Letters Academy at the stadium, Hanson is part of the Tour team and spends some of his utilising the facilities there to improve his game. Letters also sponsors the Junior Golf Factor which has proved quite a success over the last three years.
