THE Golf Factor, the brainchild of Direct Golf UK chief John Andrew and designed to bring young talent to the forefront, returns in Yorkshire this year after its successful launch last season.

Last year over 140 juniors aged from eight to 16 from across the county set out in the competition, which whittled down over three stages to a grand final, with 13-year-old Bradley Hudson, a four handicap player from Leeds, emerging as the winner.

Ex-Crosland Heath club professional Andrew, a Class AA PGA professional and now head of one of the largest golf equipment outlets in the country, based in Huddersfield, and also owner of the famous John Letters brand name, would love to see a youngster advancing from the Golf Factor on the first steps to becoming another Lee Westwood or Annika Sorenstam.

With amazing prizes up for grabs for the three eventual winners, this event is once again sure to attract interest from far and wide.

The free-to-enter competition is open to all junior golfers – boys and girls – aged eight to16 irrespective of their level of playing experience – beginner, improver or advanced player.

The first stage of the Yorkshire event takes place over the weekend of May 1-2 at the Stadium Driving Range, Huddersfield, with the deadline for entries being March 31.
