JAMES DRINKALL claimed his first county major title by posting two rounds of 70 at Malton & Norton to win the Yorkshire PGA Classic.

The Allerthorpe Park professional finished a shot ahead of Alex Belt and Aran Wainwright, with Belt within two points of Yorkshire PGA strokeplay champion John King in the Order of Merit.

Fixby’s Paul Carman missed the event but played the pro-am, his team finishing tied first with that led by Adrian Ambler (Walton GC) who shot 65 as individual winner.
