A TRIP to Europe’s hottest golf destination awaits amateur Ian Senior and his Longley Park PGA professional John Ambler.
if the duo can come through the regional final of Europe’s biggest pro-am competition, the Virgin Atlantic PGA National Pro-Am Championship, their reward will be a luxury five-day trip to Turkey.
Senior took his first big step towards that trip when he won the club qualifying competition with a nett score of 66.
He and Ambler now advance to Fulford Golf Club on Thursday, June 25, one of 16 regional finals, where they will play one round of better-ball medal play.
The winning professional in the regional final receives £500, and there are prizes for the top amateurs.
The winners of all the regional finals throughout Great Britain and Ireland will enjoy an all expenses paid luxury trip to compete in the Grand Final held on the PGA Sultan course at Antalya Golf Club where they will stay at the five-star Sirene Hotel and Beach Resort, between December 6-10.
Senior, aged 45, has been playing for 35 years and plays off a handicap of six, while Ambler, 39, has been a professional at Longley Park for two and a half years.
