MARTIN HAND was on hand to greet Elland members when he hosted his Vice-Captain’s Day (spread over two days) at the Hammerstone club.
Bethany Farren took first prize in the Ladies section with a nett 65, from Jill Goody who was second courtesy of a better back nine from Stella Jenkins, both ladies carding 68, while Elaine Woolerton won the nearest the line prize.
A total of 46 ladies competed on the opening day, with 91 men contesting the second day when Sean Sutcliffe took the men’s prize with a nett 64.
The first Tiger was John Belcher with a nett 67 from David Thomas, while Ivan Moorhouse was the first Rabbit with 66 from Ronnie Anderson 67.
Bob Ward won the Best Gross with 76 and Tom Brook was nearest the pin.
