TOP PGA golf professional Jamie Coverley has just made the short trip from Bradley Park to take over a new position at the Stadium Golf Range, off St Andrews Road.

The 37-year-old has joined the Direct Golf UK business as store manager, taking over from Simon Corp, who is leaving to become marketing and business manager for another arm of John Andrew’s business empire – John Letters Golf Ltd.

Ironically, Coverley started working in the golf trade for John Andrew as a 16-year-old assistant when the latter was head professional at Crosland Heath in 1990-91.

Coverley later moved to Bradley Park, before a spell in America, Crosland Heath, and then back to Bradley.

In between he spent 18 months playing full time, in an attempt to make it onto the European Tour.

For the past 14 years he has been a Class AA PGA qualified pro, and is taking his extensive knowledge of the golf industry, equipment and coaching to the Stadium, where he will continue to provide golf tuition, as well as managing the store and driving range at the award-winning John Letters Golf Academy.

“Direct Golf UK and John Letters Academy are at the forefront of the golf industry and any professional with ambition would be delighted to work for such a dynamic company,” said Coverley.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity which I couldn’t turn down, and I am delighted to be joining the team.”

He is already in situ at the Stadium, and available for coaching, evaluations and club fittings.

Anyone wishing to book a coaching session should call him on 01484 452564.
