TOP Huddersfield golf pro Chris Hanson has signed for Chubby Chandler’s International Sports Management.

The 26-year-old attached to Woodsome Hall is bidding to win a card at the European Tour school in Spain next month after winning the Europro Tour Overall Order of Merit.

This year’s achievement, which has netted him £37,929 in prize money, included three wins at Bovey Castle, Galgorm Castle and Mottram Hall.

And now he has signed for the most famous management team of the moment, with the likes of Open champion Darren Clarke and Masters winner Charl Schwartzel also under Chandler’s wing.

Hanson will now get the backing of the ISM organisation as he bids to go through Stage 2 of the qualifying school at El Valle, on the Polaris World complex near Murcia, in the first week of December.

The tough qualifying school takes place over four days from Friday, December 2, when Hanson is hoping to hit his best form.

He goes there with the support of his club and with sponsorship from John Letters Golf, FMG Support, Stromberg and Glenbrae.

ISM was founded in 1989 by Andrew ‘Chubby’ Chandler, a PGA European Tour professional, after he effectively retired from life on tour in September 1989 after 15 years.

The company started out of a small suite of offices at Mere Golf & Country Club in Cheshire and he had just four clients – Carl Mason, Phil Harrison, Denis Durnian and Derrick Cooper.

Chandler now successfully represents more than 30 professional golfers from across the globe including the UK, South Africa and India.
