IT WAS very much a ‘Meltham away-day’ in the latest round of Huddersfield Wednesday Golf Society meetings at Dewsbury.
Society treasurer Roy Johnson won the Division I first prize when he pipped his Meltham club colleague David Law on a back nine countback, both men having carded 37 points, with Chris Holmes back in third to complete a 1-2-3 for the Thick Hollins club.
And the club were on the board again in Division II, where 16-handicapper Tom Freeland won with 34 points, to finish four clear of a three-way tie for second, Outlane’s David Crowther getting the nod on countback from Marsden’s Alan Harper and Dewsbury’s Ron Lucas.
Tomorrow’s meeting is at Longley Park.
