Outlane's William Garside Putter competition was won by John Lawton who completed his round without dropping a shot.

His par 71 gave him a nett 65, two shots ahead of Stuart West, Trevor Pickles and Nathan McEwan, who all had a 67 nett.

The competition was the idea of former Outlane professional Bill Garside in 1972 when he celebrated 20 years at the club by donating a handsome putter to be played for.

Each winner has their name engraved on a small circular plaque attached to the shaft.

1 John Lawton 71-6=65 nett, 2 Stuart West 80-13=67 (countback), 3 Trevor Pickles 80-13=67 (countback), 4 Nathan McEwan 86-19=67, 5 Jeremy Wood 85-16)=69, 6 Gary Atkin 79-9=70.
